Key Information

Riding along the ever-changing wave of Technology Advancement is what we excel in. Our programmes are aligned to the MOE’s ICT MasterPlan 4 which focuses on putting quality learning in the hands of every learner – empowered with technology. Take a look at our diversity of programmes which aim to nurture the potential of each child under our charge.

Baseline ICT Programme

All our pupils are involved in the Baseline ICT Programme which have been customized to suit our curriculum requirements. Through this programme, we are preparing our pupils by equipping them with current ICT skills and knowledge which will enable them to learn independently and creatively.  They also learn other essential working ethics when they are required to work in groups for projects. The results have been very rewarding as pupils get to enjoy quality learning with the help of a computer.

MOE’s Cyber Wellness Framework uses the Sense-Think-Act approach to develop a child’s instinct to act responsibly in cyber space. This is based on two guiding principles: ‘Respect for Self and Others’ and ‘Safe and Responsible Use’.

At HWS, the pupils are exposed to talks, activities and workshops throughout the year. Cyber Wellness is also covered during Form Teacher Guidance Periods (FTGP) as well as Character and Citizenship Education (CCE) lessons.

HWS also take part in the yearly Safer Internet Day, an annual global initiative which promotes the safe, responsible and positive use of digital technology.

Infocomm Club

The Infocomm club is set up to excite students about infocomm in a fun and meaningful way by helping them to learn new skills in IT.  The Infocomm Club hopes to train a group of pupils in digital media.

The members are also given the opportunities to showcase their skills by participating in various Infocomm competitions such as the National Education Web Design Competition, the School Video Awards and Microsoft Office Specialist Competition.
In 2011, they were awarded 1st Runner-Up in the Sand Animation Competition in the South 4 cluster.
